Gmail gets one of its biggest security update

Google has shared details about its upgraded spam detection technique on Gmail. The company has developed RETVec, a multilingual text vectoriser, which improves text classification models used for spam filters. RETVec has improved Gmail's spam detection rate by 38% and reduced false positive rate by 19.4%. It also reduces model's power usage by 83% and offers faster inference speed.
